HELL HATH NO FURY (175 words)

Stepping out of the elevator, Mona walked past the array of glass fronted shops, her eyes fixed at the right corner.
Earlier she had spotted the two, Charles and his new ‘victim’, walking past the glass façade, their arms entwined, her laughter, nubile and lilting, ricocheting off the frescoed ceilings of the shopping arcade.
The bastard. It’s been barely a week and he’s already moved on, his eyes set on the next
innocent girl hopelessly floored by his devilish charm and slick mannerisms.
Sheer revulsion gave way to blind fury.
Her heart raged with maddening anger.
For a moment, her mind’s eye played out images from the not too distant past. Of the two together, in happier times, when she was in ‘love’ and just about to marry him. Or, that’s what she was led to believe while he played with her heart, mind, and body.
Only when he came inches near her did she plunge the knife straight into his heart.
She didn’t release the handle until the last gasps of breath ebbed away.
