A MIXED OFFERING

Gloria was differient things to different people.
For the students at the Christian school where she volunteered she was a live dynamo with an infectious smile, a chatterbox with ever ready answers that ensured there never was a dull moment plus smooth passage of dense mathematical formulae and complex chemical equations from teacher to taught.
For Brinda, whom she knew since the two were in kindergarten, and for the lucky few whom she took on as a friend, she was King Kong, Phantom and the Rock of Gilgralter all rolled into one, ever defending, protecting and if need be, fighting for their rights and well being.
For Pesky, the cutsie stray dog that she had discovered on the road, half bleeding to death, and later brought home and nursed back to health, she was the apparition in white who fed, clothed and cleaned her, and later took out for long, langurous walkathons when the air was still cool and the grass under her feet soft and tender.
For Mark, the Lothario, whom she fell madly in love with, she was simply a girl with an ugly scar, one in whom he saw his ticket to the big league of multi-millionaires.

Just as an aside, when you say “Phantom” as in “The Phantom,” the creation of Lee Falk?

Realities of life, nicely portrayed. I see a start of a novel in this story. Well done Neel!
