Weekend Writing Prompt #122 – Museum

Sunday’s Six Sentence Story

By Neel Anil Panicker

“Hey Simmi, let’s go to the zoo. It would be a lot of fun, and a day well spent”.

“Oh, is that so?”, exclaimed Arti, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

Simmi, who was busy applying a lip liner, stopped and looked at her flatmate before replying,
“Why do you say that dear? I thought you loved animals and birds, don’t you?”

“I do,” Simmi  replied, “but my blood boils to see animals and birds living caged lives, while we humans, as myopic and cruel as we are, make a cardinal error by having fun at their expense, gawking at them, making faces, hooting and shouting, even throwing stones, or worse poking their sensitive body parts with long pointed sticks and generally making their lives hell.”

“So what do you suggest for its week off and I’m dying to explore the city?”

Simmi smiled and retorted, “Let’s go to the museum Arti and l’ll show you how our ancestors lived and how bad we’ve become.”

  1. Dear Neel,

A good story for the prompt. Your fourth sentence is certainly a long one. 😉
