DIRTY LINEN

three line tales, week 275: blue washing in front of a turquoise house under a clear blue sky

By Neel Anil Panicker

“How on earth can you be making such a scandalously insensitive remark that your dear wife, who so very obviously dotes on you and is ever so very homely and loving is cheating on you by having an affair with another man?,” Ramesh lashed out at Aravind who stood askance, binocular in hand, staring at his own house from the terrace of another building some twenty metres away.

Aravind smirked and looked at his childhood friend before thrusting the binoculars into the hands of the latter, “I recognise all the clothes hung on the clothesline except  that off grey underwear in the middle which clearly is not mine.”

Reeling under shock, Ramesh turned around  and walked away fearful his eyes may reveal the truth that was embedded in his heart.
