LIFE’S SALTY MOMENTS
By Neel Anil Panicker
“I am but a broken toy that my mother delivered to my elder siblings___always surrounded by lilting laughter and a thousand wild and frenzied shrieks of gay abandon but forever doomed to feel the mind numbing emptiness of a hollowed out heart, a heart that I believed all through my topsy turvy childhood came out of my mother’s womb with a huge gaping hole”.
The words, as he heard them resound against the gushing tide of the froth filled waves filled him with immense sadness; he instinctively reached out and flung a protective arm around Runa.
And that’s how it were for the next hour or so—the 33 year old banker looking at the love of his love, the one he had just been engaged to, and the one he longingly, achingly looked forward to spending the rest of his life with—a life he hoped and prayed for and one which his parents, uncles, aunts, and assorted relatives were sure of would be filled with sheer bliss.
