By Neel Anil Panicker

Vishal stared out from the balcony of this corner street house; the main road that further connected to the major thoroughfares of the city were start empty—not a soul in sight, as bld as as an eagle’s head.

From inside, the news anchor’s high octane decibel levels smashed into her ears—rising deaths, increasing numbers of infected, global meltdown, joblessness, crime wave, anarchy, doomsday….all manner of negative words, opinion and statistics. it seemed to his teenaged mind were competing with one another to paint a horrific apocalyptic vision  that he had never ever even imagined in his darkest of nightmares.

From somewhere inside, he heard his mother call out to him for breakfast___the same old boiled potatoes with rotis___and at that instant, he felt a sickening feeling form im his gut, a sense of uttet nausea that soon travelled all over body and made him want to escape from the hell hole that he found himself trapped in ever since the Corona induced lockdown that was imposed all over the country.
