three line tales, week 216: two zebras on the plains

“Did you notice the world’s denizens are like zebras—all one, all blessed with the same stripes, black and white with white strands in between, and trotting towards the same pathway, and resolved to fight unitedly the deadly contagion infamous all over as the Coronas virus,” remarked Lakshya to his girlfriend over the phone.

“All one my foot!,” retorted Anjali from the other end, before adding, “this is all superficial as two people can never be the same for if you scratch the surface and look closely you will find that everything about them is so very different and distinct from the other including their speech, mannerisms, thought processes, feelings and…I mean you name it and its never the same with two human beings though there are exceptions such as…”

Lakshya, at the other end of the phone, sighted a window of opportunity and like the true blue love- struck teen that he was, interjected his girlfriend of exactly two and half weeks and added, “like two live birds madly in love with one another…like you and me, my love”.
