WHY SHOULD I GO TO PAKISTAN?

“Go to Pakistan. Be ready to be shot like dogs”.
Tabrez Alam stared into the television screen.
A monologue was in progress.
A man, a senior lawmaker was holding forth, braying in his fiercesome baritone for the blood of all Muslims, vowing to cut them into pieces.
His harangue was peppered with the choicest of incentives against ‘the infidels” and “anti-nationals” and “beef eating sons and daughters of Satan”.
The nineteen year old student of Ancient Indian History stood there, transfixed, wondering at what juncture in history did his dear country slid down the slippery slope of self destruction.

The horrors of Partition still resonate in India today. And isn’t it sad that there are so many similar stories all over the world? I sometimes despair of the human race. Is it really so impossible for all of us to accept our differences and live together in peace?

Just wondering–in the 5th paragraph, where you use the word “incentives,” were you looking for the word “invectives”?
This is really a good microcosm of our world today, where no one seems to like anyone else very much. We’ve come to a sorry pass!
