GOOD RIDDANCE!
By Neel Anil Panicker

One  look at the kitchen sink and her heart sank.

Nooo…She screamed.

The word, stretched, strained at the edges, and died before they reached her lips.

In exasperation she picked the bottle of Freddie’s and smashed it to the  floor. Mango pickle pieces littered all over, leaving reddish stains on the pearly white tiled floor.

She stood there, her mind and body in limbo—unmoving, unthinking, uncaring.

Then, after what seemed an eternity, she picked her phone and stabbed the keys:
“IT’S OVER. BUY YOURSELF ANOTHER WIFE. THIS ONE’S A DOCTORATE IN NUCLEAR PHYSICS; SO, SLIGHTLY OVERQUALIFIED FOR THE JOB”.

  1. Dear Neel,

Ouch! Guess she told him. Her frustration is tangible. I wonder if they can’t talk it out like civilized adults?

    Shalom,

  4. Even if she doesn’t have a doctorate – tasks should be distributed in a more even manner…

  5. A tad over-wrought, she is, eh? That said, seems to me that this was not the first time she’d come home to find tasks that waited for her and perhaps could’ve been done by another one … 😉

  9. How clever! Dealing with his messes certainly doesn’t tap into her intelligence. One wonders why she married him to begin with 🙂

  10. If she was my wife I’d buy another one. I wonder if they do part-exchange.
