“That’s poetic justice”.
‘What? Did you just say that! Poetic justice? Come again! What’s poetic justice about me telling you that I just got dumped, Raghav?’
Raghav swigged a few gulps of whisky before turning towards Sheena,
“Look dear, while I do empathise with what you feel I couldn’t help myself wondering that what’s just happened to you is pure poetic justice. Remember, something similar had happened with Isha a few months ago when she had been given the cold shoulder by the guy she was going around for three long years, and remember the way you were laughing and remarking in that highly sarcastic manner of yours that she deserved it and that she was never girl friend material and blah blah blah?”
‘Oh! so now you are equating the two, isn’t that unfair, Raghav’? After all Isha is just an acquaintance but us, we’ve been buddies since childhood, right?’
‘No, not right dear,’ Raghav responded, his voice an even keel, adding, ‘Injustice is injustice, whether it happens to people who are close to us or people who are absolute strangers.’
