WORTH THE WAIT
By Neel Anil Panicker
Never in her wildest of imaginations did Esther ever dream it would come to this.

That she would be there, bang in the middle of the central business district, standing in the middle of the main traffic intersection, clad in a shimmering gold monoskirt, and waiting, in her case for the past fifteen minutes while the world and its neighbour sped by in tearing hurry, a few, mostly young men in designer glasses and sporting spiked hairs occasionally glancing at her, even smiling hideously, the kind of smile young beautiful women get when hot blooded dudes with a glad eye find them propositions too hot to ignore.

Hello beautiful! the words whispered into her left ear melted her heart faster than butter on a hot plate, and as she locked eyes with Alfred she knew that no wait, however long, was a waste as long as it culminated in her reuniting with the love of her life.

  1. Was it a condition that she has to wait in the middle of the road? 🙂
