TEA TIME TALES
By Neel Anil Panicker
A raconteur par excellence, Aunt Elle was a dream hostess, her doors including the front that led to the Marina, the two side ones and the back that was a hop, skip and jump to the only football ground in a three mile radius of Elloor Village.

Hot piping mint tea to be savoured with crispy cherry topped chocolate biscuits the size of a cutesy postage stamp was her bait.

Those hooked were regaled to a heady cocktail of eclectic make believe tales garnished with crackling wit that was her calling card.

Those’re the days, the old timers would recall, wistfully.

  1. Dear Neel,

Aunt Elle sounds like a colorful character. As colorful as her tea and biscuits. Sweet story.

      1. I’ve never tried linking on a phone. In fact I do very little in the way of blogging on the phone other than checking my comments. Sorry I can’t be of more help in that department.

  6. How nice to have a story about a story-teller! Elle had a great technique for gathering her audience, with mint tea and chocolate biscuits. Those were nice details to include in your story.
