…SHHH…SOME SMALL SECRETS  (HISTORICAL REALISTIC FICTION)

“Seven. No wait, it’s six”.

“That’s wrong. It’s eight…yeah eight. Eight I say, for sure. Wanna bet?”

I heard them in silence___the two, Raj and Arti___my sole link to school days.

They were both wrong. I knew the answer, how couldn’t I not.

There were ten colonnades in all. How do I know that? Remember it after two score years have passed by?

I say, why wouldn’t I? I used to count them, those tall ‘white as angels’ sentinels.

The last one led to the near deserted green room.
