KILLER ON THE LOOSE
By Neel Anil Panicker
‘But why’s would someone do this?’, Koshy half blurted out.
Detective Chacko ignored his junior’s remark while allowing himself a full 360 degree gaze of the room.
There it was___an upturned bookcase___Jungle Books and Harry Potters’ falling out of it, the pages half exposed; plus, broken shards of glass on the Italian marbled floor; and the shocker of it all___reams and reams of toilet paper rolls cut into a million pieces and strewn all over a bed sans a heavily mauled bedsheet and pillows.
It seemed as if a few street dogs had had a field day of the place.
Turning around, his X-ray vision scanned a few more items of note and confined them to memory.
‘So Sir, what do you say?’
“What do I say? Well what I say is that it’s Tuesday which means the murder was committed last Sunday, that the killer loves Swiss cheese, digs chamber music, and is not a very noble man.
All Koshy could do was stare dumb struck at his boss while Chacko skirted past Mrs. Amminni’s still body that lay half naked on the floor.
