BAD TIME, WORSE TIMING
PHOTO PROMPT © J Hardy Carroll

Too near, yet too far: That’s my story this Sunday noon.
It’s killing me__this wait.
Guess what? The distance between us in no more than an arm’s length.
It’s crushing, isn’t it?
To know you can reach out and grab it; yet, to know you can’t.
Talk about oxymorons!
Bugs me no end.
I feel like an moron.
In exasperation, I fling my right foot. It connects with the foot of the table.
And then they fall, like nine pins, one topping the other, all over me.
And then some more.
Damn’t. I curse all__the takeaway; the pizza; the potatoes.

So the pototoes and the pizza are all within reach, but the person is fighting an inner battle to resist them or is unable to reach them owing to his physical limitations – anyway.. I liked the way you have expressed his exasperation and frustration. Reminded me of Joey from FRIENDS, but then he would never be having this conversation in the first place. 😉

Dear Neel,
Your MC needs to learn to control his temper. Note: flinging his foot makes me think it came off his leg. Just saying. 😉 Funny how one little act can cause a chain reaction. Well illustrated.

I was left wondering if his consumption of too many carbs has caused his incapacity, hence the frustration.

Intriguing story. Is he on a diet? Pizza on the table must be infuriating if that’s the case…
