FFfAW Challenge – 178th

A  FRUITFUL WEEKEND TRIP

By Neel Anil Panicker

“Bloody hell, the line’s not moving!” the man in the line muttered under his breath.

From behind, Inder nudged him, “Keep your trap shut, Navneet. It’s a Sunday.”

Inder looked through his fake Ray Ban glasses at the merry Sunday crowd of party revellers.

Bespoke watches, clutches, and exquisite jewellery gleamed under the glare of the afternoon sun as men and women clad in chic dresses inched forward, their hands clutching top end Apples and IPhones, their mouths barking out last minute orders.

Watching them Inder felt as if the crème de la crème of Belevedere had descended.

“We should have dressed better”.

Inder nodded in agreement.

The two were poorly dressed; their bodies smelled of the sweat and grime of inner city life.

They stood out like two sore thumbs in this glitzy environs.

Regret way to optimism the moment the two clambered aboard and the ferry set sail.

Inder knew the trip would end in a mega success.

‘Since when did robbing the rich off their riches require one to be rich oneself.’

  1. Oh my gosh, they are there to rob the rich. I think they should have dressed better as the rich ones are going to be uneasy around them! Great story, Neel!

I think that they are in trouble, as they are not going to get away on a ferry,
