‘Ronnie says it’s a Polo.’

Apollo? The mission to the Moon?

‘No, no Doc. What he means is the sweet peppermint that all children of his age are hooked onto.’

Oh! I get it. That small white thing…what do they call it…yeah…a mint with a hole, right?

‘Yes, doc, it’s been happening for the past two months. Every night, a little after I put him to bed, he wakes up in a scream, his body all shivering, sweat pouring down his temples.

Go ahead, Ronnie dear, tell doctor Uncle all that you have been dreaming.’

“There is this huge, white round ball. It’s big, really big, big enough to put your head through it.

And then I see two arrows pierced at its top. And blood dripping out of it.”

‘Another thing doc, Ronnie sees this only on Tuesdays.’

Oh, I see! Anything special on Tuesdays.

‘No, nothing. Except that he has his dance class on that day.’

Well, I guess I need to speak to his dance teacher then.

I can recall how as a child I did not feel comfortable with the smell of peppermint ! perhaps his dance teacher needs to try something different. It will be interesting to see how the artistic object in the photo comes over to each of us

    1. Maybe so. The dance teacher needs to watched over very carefully. Thanks Michael.

  7. From Polo , Apollo to dance teacher…. a long way.Your story moved very quickly and with interest. My son in first grade did not like his Hindi teacher and I had to go and talk to her.

My post has a Polo mention. do check it.

  8. It sounds like something at his dance class is upsetting him. Good story, Neel. 🙂
