“It’s going to be an exclusive affair__just the management, teachers, and students. They would love to hear from one of their own, especially one whose spectacular success is such a classic rags to riches story.”

As Salim Ibrahim, the CEO of a   Fortune 500 tech company, put the phone down, an avalanche of memories flooded his heart and his eyes moistened at the prospect of revisiting his alma mater, the one he had graduated from many moons ago.

He had one more reason to look forward to the visit: he would soon come face to face with Anwar Ali, the school gardener, also his biological father.

  1. Interesting twist, Neel. You make a good point about responsibility. In many (if not most!) societies, a woman is ultimately responsible for her child, and the father’s responsibility is negligible. Does a child owe an absent father anything at all?
