Amidst the deafening roars and the maddening euphoria that gripped the eager beaver band of graduating students, Albert, for the first time in his life, felt vindicated as huge surge of relief swelled up in his chest.
Today, despite the harangues, vilifications, and downright insults of his teachers (‘you good for nothing time wasting ignoramus’), ‘wastrel Al’ had managed to beat the odds.
As he heard his name called out, he proudly made his way past his distinguished colleagues to collect the fruits of his just efforts, knowing fully well that he was a survivor and will forever be so.
