OUT OF TUNE
This week’s photo prompt is provided by Mike Vore. Thank you Mike for our photo prompt!

“A piano is for keeps but I am no keep.”
From across the table Mary couldn’t help but smile.
She always found Vineeta’s clumsy word play indulgences wildly amusing.
‘Looks like Bob’s lexical skills are really rubbing off on you’.
Mary was referring to her best friend’s latest boyfriend, the fuzzy haired, Shakespeare mouthing, piano strumming intern next door, who, of late, was the reason why Claire did the vanishing act every other day, at times even for days together.
“Stop it, Mary. I don’t want to even hear the asshole’s name again”.
The words came loaded with a lot of bile, especially the way she spat out ‘a…aa…aaas…hooole’.
Mary waited for the storm to abate.
Later in their hostel room, a chastened Vineeta said,
“I broke his piano…smashed the bloody thing to pieces”, adding, “the bastard was fucking her more than me”.

Neel, do you mind if I ask you to tone down your stories a little? Part of the rules is the stories are not suppose to be R rating or more. My blog is rated PG on the internet. Thanks!

If you mean that literally then, “Ew.”

Well done! I did get confused about which character was which. We start off with Vinneta speaking, go to Mary smiling at Vinneta’s word play, to Mary commenting on how Bob’s lexical skills affects Vinneta. Bob is Mary best friend’s boyfriend. Okay I got that. But who the heck is Claire? Is Claire Mary’s best friend or is Vennita? Okay, I know. I’m anal. Feel free to tell me so:)
Love the twist at the end, too. Wording is perfect.
