Something ratty

By Neel Anil Panicker

John moved in for the third kiss. Richa pushed him away, and then, hurriedly slipped on her T-shirt.

‘I should be going now’.

“But why? We had it all planned, this night halt, remember?”

His hands still held on to her breasts.

‘You. You had this tent thing planned. Not me. I don’t think it is safe too’.

John broke into laughter.

“This is no forest. I checked__ no animals, not even a lowly rat around for ten miles”

‘Dad’s issued an ultimatum. It’s time we get married’.

“But can’t that wait until morning?”

‘I smell a rat…I can see one too’.
