…on route

By Neel Anil Panicker

WORD COUNT: 97 WORDS

Fill it, shut it, forget it. That’s me. Just another trading post. Yeah! if that’s any consolation, they gave me a number as well, just a number though.

In the trade i am known as route 66.

Check that__on route.  That’s me. The median, never the end. They partake of my pleasures__rest, feast, and proceed.

My pleasures are temporary; their sights more permanent.

I am just a cog in the wheels. Some say imoprtant; but I know that’s just being polite.

I may feed their wheels but the truth is I am just a stopover meal, a part of the deal, but never the full deal.

  6. Interesting perspective. I get the sense this narrator would have a lot more to say if we listened. I wonder if there are any treasured moments amidst the neglected feelings?

    1. Thanks. I too feel the same. Maybe if someone just sat down, shated a cup of tea or coffee, he would open up about his life and reveal some priceless moments.
